Ingredients
  

Chicken
  • 1 whole chicken about 4-5 pounds
Beer
  • 1 can lager beer or your favorite beer
Spices
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for coating
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional for heat

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F to 400°F).
  2. Rinse the chicken under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. Rub the olive oil all over the chicken, then season with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper.
  4. Open the beer can and drink or pour out half of the beer. Place the can inside the beer can holder.
  5. Insert the can into the cavity of the chicken, ensuring it stands upright.
Grilling
  1. Place the chicken upright on the grill grates, away from direct heat.
  2. Close the grill lid and cook for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F in the thickest part of the chicken.
  3. Rotate the chicken occasionally for even cooking.
  4. Once cooked, carefully remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
