Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 4 cups fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar adjust based on sweetness of cherries
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour for thickening
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Topping
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the pitted cherries, granulated sugar, flour, vanilla extract, and lemon juice. Mix well.
  3. Pour the cherry mixture into a greased baking dish.
Prepare the Topping
  1. In another bowl, mix together the oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and cinnamon until crumbly.
  2. Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the cherry filling.
Bake
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the cherries are bubbling.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
