Ingredients
  

Oatmeal Base
  • 2 cups rolled oats gluten-free if needed
  • 4 cups water or milk for creaminess
  • 1 pinch salt
Blueberry Topping
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries can substitute with frozen
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup to taste
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon optional
Optional Add-ins
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts like almonds or walnuts
  • 1/4 cup yogurt for creaminess

Method
 

Prepare the Oatmeal
  1. In a saucepan, bring water or milk to a boil. Add the rolled oats and a pinch of salt.
  2. Reduce heat to medium and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until the oats are tender.
Add Blueberries
  1. Stir in the fresh blueberries and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the blueberries are heated through.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in honey or maple syrup and cinnamon if using.
Serve
  1. Divide the oatmeal into bowls and top with optional nuts and yogurt if desired.
