Ingredients
  

Tuna Salad
  • 2 cans tuna drained
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise adjust to taste
  • 1 stalk celery finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup red onion finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper to taste
Sandwich Assembly
  • 8 slices bread your choice, e.g., whole grain, white
  • 4 leaves lettuce for serving
  • 1 tomato sliced for serving

Method
 

Prepare Tuna Salad
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, chopped celery, chopped red onion, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well with a fork until combined.
Assemble Sandwich
  1. Lay out 4 slices of bread. Top each slice with a generous portion of the tuna salad.
  2. Add a leaf of lettuce and a slice of tomato on top of the tuna salad.
  3. Top with the remaining slices of bread to complete the sandwiches. Cut in half if desired.
