Ingredients

For the Ultra-Moist Cinnamon Rolls
  • 1 can (17.5 oz) jumbo cinnamon rolls with icing such as Pillsbury Grands or scratch-made dough spirals
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream warmed slightly (the viral moisture secret)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/3 cup dark brown sugar packed
  • 1 tsp ground Ceylon cinnamon for rich extra spice layer
  • 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
For the Silky Cream Cheese Frosting
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup powdered confectioners sugar sifted
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla bean paste or extract
  • 1 tbsp warm milk or heavy cream as needed to adjust glaze consistency
  • 1 container included icing from the can blended with homemade glaze for extra decadence

Method

Prep Dish & Arrange Rolls
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch or 9x9-inch ceramic or glass baking dish generously with softened butter.
  2. Open the can of cinnamon rolls, setting aside the icing cup for later. Separate the raw spiral dough rounds and arrange them evenly in the prepared baking dish with slight space between them.
The Viral Heavy Cream Soak
  1. Warm 1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream in the microwave for 15-20 seconds until just warm to the touch (not boiling hot). Pour the warm heavy cream slowly around and over all the cinnamon rolls so it pools in the bottom of the dish.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until a smooth spiced paste forms. Spoon this extra cinnamon-sugar topping over the top of each roll.
Bake to Golden Pillow Perfection
  1. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil. Bake covered for 30 minutes at 350°F (175°C), allowing the dough to absorb the heavy cream and steam into fluffy pillowy layers.
  2. Remove the aluminum foil and bake uncovered for an additional 8 to 10 minutes until the tops are golden brown and cooked through in the center.
  3. While baking, beat softened cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and the canned icing together until fluffy. Spread generously over the cinnamon rolls while still warm so the frosting melts into every crevice. Serve warm!
