Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour 480g
  • 1 cup whole milk 240ml, warm
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar 50g
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast 7g
  • 1 tsp salt 6g
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted, 57g

Method
 

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top and let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour and salt until combined.
  3. Pour the frothy yeast mixture and melted butter into the dry ingredients. Stir until well combined.
  4. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place in an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  6. Punch down the dough, shape into a loaf, place in greased loaf pan, cover, and let rise again for about 30 minutes while preheating oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
